No recalls if I'm reading it right. Max backfill on furloughs is 111, which is the current number, which means no recalls. Vacancies in IAD will be filled by pilots in other bases.

If they want the new PSP money they must recall.

They must pay but not necessarily recall.

Yes, but on the current vacancy there are no recalls. Should they take the money they will have to pay those pilots at least.

For all we know they may opt to not even take the money at all.

If they’ve managed to keep the company staffed since October (with the reduced flying) and managed their financials without any assistance from the government, then they can certainly hack this out for another 3-4 months.

Beancounters know what they’re doing behind the scenes better than we do...

Doesn't the union have any idea?

Default No recalls

It states on this vacancy notice that it does not address any recall/furlough. I forget exact wording, but it made it sound like if and when the recalls happen it would be not on this vacancy but on another. Hopefully sooner than later.

They could theoretically update the vacancy if the money is taken.

Right but, again, the money would also reduce their current payroll significantly. It covers the 400-some pilots who are working right now. Why would it not be in their short term interest to just put the furloughees on some kind of paid leave?

Paid leave may not be allowed, depending on the wording in the paperwork from Uncle Sam
