Unfortunately a lot more hinges on this then just Covid recovery. We just elected one of the most socialist, climate focused leaderships since the Obama administration. It is absolutely amazing how quickly people forget how 50 seat RJs were being parked in the desert because they were too expensive to operate. All economists say this is just around the corner again. Yes, we may put Covid behind us in the next 6 to 12 months, but then the next 3 to 5 years bring absolute gridlock as far as prosperity goes due to Climate policies. Why, oh why do people vote for the demise of their own jobs?? I'll never understand it, so don't try to explain it to me. There will be no recalls in the next 3 to 5 years, and if anything, there will only be more pilots furloughed after Covid.

The biggest threat to AW isn’t a politician. It is only operating the 200 for a company who has publicly said that it’s days are numbered, coupled with the LOA which reduces available block hours to UAX.

You are too worried about this. They said all the same socialist stuff about Obama in 2008, and whether or not you liked him, the free market continues to reign, terrorists didn't take over the government, and everyone still has their guns. More than ever actually.

Europe has a lot stricter environmental laws and airlines still operate there. China is investing huge in clean energy and is going to be the world leader in a few years. Are there airplanes there? Yeeeeeees....

United itself just invested big-time in a Carbon capture project so seriously, take a breath.

So since I became a citizen I’ve been hearing the word socialism being thrown around in America.

I hate to break it to people here but nobody has a clue what socialism is because people born here NEVER lived through it (or dictatorship or civil war or economic persecution) like some of us have and it makes me grateful to be an immigrant and have a greater understanding and appreciation of America.

This is a classic capitalist free market economy country. It will NEVER be socialist because it was never designed to be so.

There is also nothing wrong with climate focus. You want a good clean Earth to live in, you act responsibly and take care of it just like you’d take care of your own home.

Recalls and growth will happen. It is the natural order of things and free market economies. An opinion column on the Internet means nothing because opinions are meant to sell to the masses.

Let’s stick to the topic of recalls ultimately...

OOOOHHH REAALLYYYYY??

Recalls

You are a classic case of 'Bama amnesia. Let me guess, you hadn't even started college yet, and are currently just 2 years out of a Cessna 172? Yep.

But if he were socialist, literally name one significant industry that he nationalized. Hell even a non significant one.

Also no, I am well out of college with my ATP, got furloughed, got a different job and nevertheless would appreciate more aggressive environmental policies and investments.

Are you buddies with Newsom? Because your message is "Shut up unless it comes from a news source only I find credible" Let me guess, that would be CNN, ABC, PBS?? I'm surprised MSN / CNBC doesn't qualify for you. Let's stick to the topic of recalls? You refuse to discuss the consequences of your voting history. Typical. You stand with the same folks who are moving out of Illinois, California, and New York is Mass Exodus because of their voting history. Unable to be responsible for one's vote. These subjects directly impact Recalls buddy - and you refuse to acknowledge them!

My guess is they will recall everyone but not have them train until there is an actual demand increase. That way their total payroll expense is subsidized, but if nothing happens by March, they just furlough us like before.
