Yeah uh what’s up with the SkyWest shade? let’s glance at 5 year 7/9 Captain pay rates for both companies.
Mesa
700: $69
900: $75
SkyWest
700: $88
900: $90
(Not including the multiple bonus’s you receive per year after 2 years of service)
We have multiple bases (PHX, DFW) with 700 only flying who appreciate the 700 rate being closer to the 900 rate.
Something else to consider, SkyWest has substantially more 700’s than 900’s. So when negotiating pay contracts, having the 700 pay up near the 900 is beneficial for the pilot group as a whole.
On the contrary, Mesa has more 900’s than 700’s, so they most likely focused more on pushing the 900 rate higher.

Yeah you casually left out everything EXCEPT the gap between rates. Our rate is $20 more an hour and you say “Mesa is the saving grace” because the pay gap between 700/900 is larger.... yeah it’s $15-20 less of a pay rate per hour, but hey “the rate is increased more between aircrafts at Mesa, they’re the saving grace” lol sounds good buddy.
