Just talked to one of the Assistant Chief Pilots, looks like United gave us around 13k block hours instead of 15k. However, due to the amount of resignations there would still be a lot of open time. Also, another vacancy bid.

G7 and C5 also had to give flying back. That’s what Mesa is being seen in ORD this month. Which is weird cause they are also short staffed. But a lot of routes are being operated by mainline

UAX is going to shrink significantly unless a modern 50 seat replacement that is scope compliant enters production soon. The best hope for Air Wisconsin is that GoJet gives up and you guys end up with the 550’s. That’s a risky gamble when both Mesa and SkyWest have 700 training programs in place and SkyWest is facing the same threat with the future of their 200’s. The record hiring at all of the legacies is going to hit the regionals really hard. I’m guessing that the smaller companies are either eliminated, or get merged into the bigger ones. Either way, the next few years are going to be a wild ride.

G7 has the 550s for awhile. They’re not going anywhere anytime soon. Fully stocked on FOs and just like everyone else short Captains. They just announced $20K to upgrade to Captain. I’m sure they’ll give it to DECs too

$20,000 won't get an FO to upgrade if they don't have 1000 hours. An FO can't get 1000 hours if they don't have captains to fly with.

Most DECs are wise enough to steer clear of G7, especially considering all of the AA WOs are hiring DECs.

Actually a wise DEC would stay clear of WOs. Why would you go to a WO as a DEC to stay at the bottom on the seniority list for years. Not to mention your 8-9 year flow to American. Keep in mind those bonuses come with a catch. You take the money, you can’t leave if UAL or FedEx calls. Unless you pay every penny back. Guess what. Most guys spend there bonuses on anything. New car, new house. It’s hard not to spend just a little

When you G7 busting DECs, I think I would rather take my chance at a WO before G7…

Awac has been going out of business “soon” since the 2005 debacle with United. I don’t know how many lives they have, but they have more than the standard 9 lives a cat has. I was there. I lived it. I would say that as opportunities present themselves at majors/legacies/LCCs, you pursue them. You take them. Move onward and upward. The environment at AWAC or AWA or whatever they’re calling it now is arguably toxic.

I remember flying with people saying “I literally can’t afford to leave, and our insurance is the best, and our 401k, and trip touching, etc.”

Fast forward to present day and those old dawgs are still barking the same bark. I am positive of that. I text with one of them. Good luck to all of you—truly mean that, but eventually some of these guys on here are correct. Air Wisconsin will eventually run out of chapters to continue to write their story.

Edit (fun fact): I’ll also add that while you’re at ZW you are led to believe that you’re an integral part of our aerospace commerce in this country. False. You’re a niche operator in niche markets and the fact of the matter is, many people don’t even know who ZW is. When I tell them where I came from. I usually have to explain it. Then they say “oh, so a regional like Endeavor.”

Arguably? I think you meant "100% for sure dumpster fire."

AW is ready to take on the 550 as far as I can see and I think that's what will happen if GJ folds.
