Grand thought, isn't it? I should drop this idea in the PHL crewroom later today... At the least, it'll get the drool going from some of the more senior folk.

Would make my life easier if it did. I also heard that rumor from a PDT guy the other day. It's a real possibility I think.

God I hope like hell this actually happens. It would be incredible for a vast number of people.

It would also screw those of us that live in the DC area.

Yes I agree! Not to mention any senior pilot that was thinking of leaving for grenner pastures before would be content staying here for the remainder of his/her career thus adding further to the stagnation...

Well, when we left ORD it sucked for those of us living in that area. The entire company, every single pilot and flight attendant, was displaced out of the previous bases.

I wouldn't worry too much. Rumors are worth nothing in this industry. I'll believe we're flying in ORD again when the company issues a realignment notice. I can't see it happening quickly, that's for sure.

What would be the bases then? Just ORD?

I don't believe this to be true. People trying to leave will still be trying to leave.

People who want to leave are going to leave regardless of the base. The old timers are here for life either way. It's ridiculous to try to move to a regional base expecting to never commute another day of your life.

I could just see a DCA swap for ORD, idk why New York or Norfolk would close or even Philly for that matter.
