There are some day trips but mostly 3 and 4 day trips. Start and end in ORF but very few out-and-backs in ORF. You'll start by going to PHL or DCA or CLT and then fly around the system for 4 days and return on the last day. Junior line holders have early starts and late finishes.

Live in domicile.

Would a two hour drive into ORF be doable as a line holder verses crashpad?

As a line holder you can drive 20 hours if you want.

This. ^^

Early shows are 5 am so you'd have to leave by 0230 to make it. Count on 20 minutes from the crew parking lot to signing into your trip.

0230 is pretty early but a few folks do this type of thing. I know of one who drives from near CHO. It can be done.

I grew up in Williamsburg. I didn't do it often but found the drive between CHO and Williamsburg along I-64 to be extremely boring. I feel for the guy who does that drive all the way to ORF.

Anyone know the secret to getting one's resume bumped up the review stack a little? I've been "Not Reviewed" for a while now.

And total resurrecting a tangent, but max out your match (free money!) then anything you want to invest above that drop into a Roth IRA. No taxes on gains, and many more investment options.
