Thank you sweetholyjesus and FODhopper for your input. Just what I want to hear, I am all down for learning the AirWis way and realize I have a lot to learn. I look forward to working with you.

Despite the trips being "crappy", are there more hours per month to be had in ORF?

Not particularly more or less. There is more open time (overtime trips) in the larger bases, however. You will also fly a lot of those trips from other bases while on reserve. Lots of deadheading and airport downtime flying out of ORF. Also plan on losing half a day of your life each trip by showing up day 1 at 0430 and coming home day four at midnight. "Crappy"

On a positive note, there is usually one really long (24+ hour) overnight on the "crappy" trips. With the right overnight and a fun crew (and some restraint) it can make for a good time.

PSA has hired a few more sim instructors recently. But, to be honest, we are way overstaffed when it comes to sim and ground instructors. I don't know if the company is planning something, or it is just wishful thinking.

If you PM me names, I can tell you if it is true, but I doubt it. Most all of our instructors are former Comair pilots, and a few guys that left the line and now working in the sims.

Right now, PSA sim instructors are having to fly the line at least 4-6 days a month, sometimes more, because we have way too many instructors for the number of new hires.

It is possible.

In the last few months, PSA has hired about half a dozen ground instructors (ground school/IPT's/systems) and a couple sim instructors.

Personally, I have only flown with one guy that came to PSA from Air Wisconsin. I am sure that he got fired from AWAC, and was not at PSA long either. I am sure that he is the exception to the rule at AWAC. Everyone else that I have met from there has been great.

Yes, I'm tired of getting called twice a day for junior manning when I'm currently on my primary vacation. I too like someone said above have been getting calls in the middle of the night for early shows and a most likely a double deadhead back. If I didn't know any better, judging by my call log one would assume I'm on reserve again with the amount of calls from atw.
