I'm sitting here hoping you are right. But I have already heard of people that can't pass upgrade training at their WO regional flow up to mainline due to their seniority. Maybe they've improved, or maybe they just sneak through the cracks. Who knows...

There is a big difference between every airline having their* bunch of idiots (), versus an airline not interviewing or requiring any sort of merit from 75% of their incoming new hires.

Don't worry you'll land a job at Delta, United, Southwest I'm sure.
It's amusing that the only people that complain about the flow are those that aren't part of it. I'm sure if AA came up and told you guys they wanted to set up a flow program you'd be doing backflips with joy.

Merit? lol, they already work for basically the same company right? When someone buys a ticket on American and they fly the Eagle brand what's the difference? Especially even more so when it's a WO.

Pilots complain about flow because flow limits the possibility for off-the-street candidates.

Come on man, let's be real. To get a job at Envoy, PSA, or PDT you basically need 1000-1500 hours and a pulse. The interview process at any of the three WOed doesn't compare to the interview process at AA. My biggest problem with flow is exactly just that, you're getting a job you did not interview for nor were selected/hired by AA.

My take on the flow is that you are being interviewed by AA during the years of working for their WO. They have 5-10 years to watch you, and have all your records.
That being said does anyone know if AA can turn down an employee for fails or something else during their time at their WO?
Also, Piedmont is being selective right now. I was in the AA van with some people we were interviewing last month in CLT. They said we sent home quite a few people.

The problem is the flow isn't based on performance. That's why all the upgrade failures just sit as FOs until their flow number is called. So no, it is not a 5-7 year interview.
