A lot of people who boast they are great to fly usually aren't. However moving on, the reason they aren't giving any increase in retention bonus to captains is because they know they don't have to. They know the really senior guys aren't going anywhere, why pay them more? Every other captain that has the potential to move on, will do so the exact minute they get a class date at Delta, United, Southwest, etc. An extra 10K is not going to retain any captain from leaving for a sold future at a mainline carrier and the company knows it. In the meantime those same guys waiting for a call sit tight regardless. The company isn't as dumb as many think they are.

Which is exactly why you need to fight for better language in negotiations. Of course the company is going to try to skate by as cheaply as possible.. Just remember who the idiots were who signed for the LOA that allowed the company to pay us temporarily, unevenly, and out of seniority.

First year and only year. Retention LOA doesn't mention any bonuses beyond 2017.

Schmohawk, was the 1st year pay with the bonus in an email or is it listed someplace? With no advertised future I don't think it is enough to get folks in the door, but just curious what they are doing to try and bring them in.

It's on their site , airwis.com
$35/hr with a 75 hour guarantee plus the $33k in bonus comes to $64500/yr
Nobody knows yet how the bonus will be structured, I'd guess some sign on bonus and then payments every six months. Like a lot of people here said , that probably won't mean much if there isn't flying past 2018.
