Who cares? Nothing better to discuss on a Sunday morning than sim bay leases? No one at awac is currently under the impression our relationship with aag is going to continue. So please, continue debating training center leasing.

This. With their recent reshuffling of bases for the other regionals it's clear they have no intention of keeping us. I just hope the negotiations with this "mainline carrier" don't go the way of Delta two years ago.

I'm just trying to understand how this bonus is going to get pilots. You still need a future plan and for Upgrade times to get below a year before I could see anyone wanting to go there.
Maybe AWAC can get a program set up with United like CommutAir has. Least that would get some of the senior captains that are qualified to move on.
There's just too many better choices right now.

What Billy Ho said...the bonus gives people something to talk about and with respect to 1st year pay makes AW competitive...but they still have too senior of a pilot pool with causing long upgrade times and making them an expensive airline to run...and the lack of any future announcement past January of next year. If they do land a new contract there is a good chance it results in the bases moving to support it. Still way too many unknowns to make AW attractive.

With the current fleet the upgrade still sits at 5+ years, even with an extended contract. There will still be a ton of people sitting at the top. Unless they are adding a ton of flying or some crazy flow I don't see the need for "experienced pilots capable of upgrading quickly". I'm hoping that is a good sign and not just fluff from the recruiting department.

I just completed my initial MV for Endeavor in the CRJ 200 at CAE PHX. But the sign on the building says "American Airlines Training Center.
The Sim I was in does Mesa and foreign carriers...we just turned down the brightness on the 2nd FMS.
CAE will lease to anybody so CLT is not "out" as an AWAC training site.. AWAC also over the years has bought time in PHX YUL and Denmark.
