"Elementary, my dear Watson."

Had Kirby not gone over to United from AA and shifted UALs focus to increasing profits on its domestic network I think AWAC would have been left out in the cold.

I'm glad it worked out for the AWAC crowd. It sure wasn't looking good there for a while. Congrats!

Congrats to the AWAC group. I'm very happy for all of you. What a great pilot group!

They still need a new contract right?

Remember when you said nobody would touch AWAC because they didn't have a contract ironed out between the pilot group and management????

Guess they didn't need to take concessions to gain new flying, unlike others that have in the not so distant past. Use your imagination on who I might be referring to.

Current (13+ year old) book is at the bottom of the list when it comes to other regional contracts. Of course there is no need to take concessions and somehow the last concessionary TA (from current book) almost passed.

When bonuses are taken into account of hourly rates, yes... Otherwise the contract is not at the bottom of the list. Overall compensation isn't less than other comparable regionals. All I know is I made good money last year flying a 50 seat RJ around, without trying very hard. We have to keep in perspective we are comparing ourselves to others flying much larger aircraft for approximately the same or less per hour (a regional is a regional is a regional, I get it). I would love to make more per hour and for these bonuses to not only be for this year, but our MEC decided to give that up (which we could talk about for DAYS)... I will just leave it at that. Let's keep our heads up and fight for better rates and a better overall contract. We have a good reputation in the industry for a reason, let continue to uphold that and settle for nothing less.

Also, my statement regarding billyho was just referring to his general statements that nobody would touch AWAC without us having a contact settled. They have a contract, all the company needs to do is continue to drag it out and we keep working under the current contract. I know the rates aren't industry leading anymore, I'm just pointing out his general statements from the past. I have lurked for a long time and just rolled my eyes over and over at his and other's remarks. Maybe it's time to log out and just forget this forum BS! Haha

You told me I should "try thinking outside the box, or maybe just check the box in this case". You were wrong, but just can't admit it. You're not much better than billyho.

Just saying. I totally called the ORD flying. I was right about the UAL "distressed carrier" nonsense. This time it feels good being right. Congrats again everyone!

It will be SO GOOD to never have to park at the CLT -E, PHL -F, and DCA World EVER AGAIN.
