I’ve dealt with this for almost 2 decades. It’s always been that way. Why else would the pilot group be asking for “the day AND the pay “?

And as I responded to T28, why would the pilot group be so adamant about wanting “the pay AND the day”?

This is different. In this case, you are wrong. It’s not a personal attack, just a statement of fact. You will not lose 1 hour of pay if you take a day in lieu on a 7 credit hour day when your JM credit is 6 hours. You will be paid for the 7 hour day, not the 6 hour day.
Conversely if you take a day in lieu worth 3 hours and your JM credit was 12 hours, you will have a net increase of 9 hours for your monthly credit (12-3=9).

Because the “day and the pay” in the TA refers to having the pay for the junior man as well as a pay protected day in lieu.

I have had exactly the scenario I brought up happen, brought it to the grievance committee, and was told “no, that’s how it is, you don’t have a grievance “. Haven’t taken a day-in-lieu since.

Sent you a PM, Deena, with a link to the explanation of this stuff on the crew team site. The misinformation regarding how days in Lieu affect pay is a big issue at Air Wisconsin. Many people (myself included) blindly believed that they could “lose pay” by taking their day in lieu. As a result we have had and continue to have people working 20+ days in a month and avoiding taking days in lieu because they fear that somehow they will make less than the credit on their awarded line if they do.

3 years right now, with no guarantee it will drop. Some speculate that it will come down by nature because the number of those hired from 3 years to 2 years to 1 year is very small. So if we upgrade more than 8 per month it may come down to 2ish years, but that means that we need more FO's to come here, make it through to the line, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand stick around for more than 6 to 8 months.
Then there is the issue of being stuck in MKE for god knows how long because you will never hold IAD captain and will be eternally jr in ORD as a captain. But if you love good new mgmt is looking into another crew base, so you got that. No shortcuts for those with prior 121 time.
