Cant hurt to interview. Getting home based is life changing. Better pay benefits, and work rules at AWAC. Dont have to pay for housing during training at wisky. Just a few things...good luck

true, but the interview would be after my start date at compass. compass has the quicker upgrade should i be at a regional for an extended period (separating mil guy), and the contract uncertainty at whiskey scares me....had whiskey called when i applied like they were for everyone else, it would be a different story and I would have taken that offer in a heartbeat.

If you're an ex-mil pilot, no question about it, get to that interview or reschedule on a day you can. I can't stress enough how nice living in domicile is.

You don't need the upgrade, and by the time you upgrade at Compass, you'll probably already have gotten a date at a legacy. You just need some recent experience. And don't forget to network.

In my new hire class almost a decade ago, three guys out of 9 were let go, it's nothing new.

Just remember this every time you want to off yourself rolling down 27L in phl for your 2 hour flight to msp a day early to start a trip. You won't need pic to get hired at a major.

Military guy here getting out. I've heard starting off in ORF is high probability. How high is it? 9 out of 10 level?

You will leave training ORF based..

95% guaranteed.. If not out of training, within a month.

One of our new-ish guys was VF101 and VFA203 before he flew a desk.

So in an ALPA email, the ARW MEC has teamed with FAPA.aero to help AWAC pilots plan for their careers beyond AWAC. Just to stir the rumor pot a bit, do you think this has anything to do with AWAC feeling a bit guilty for putting 850+ pilots on the streets when they close their doors?

ARW MEC PROVIDES CAREER ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS PILOTS
Many ARW pilots are considering their aviation career beyond Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation. Working closely with ALPA’s Fee-for-Departure Committee and large jet (mainline) MECs and hiring departments, the ARW MEC looked at the priorities at pilot interviews and sought ways to help their pilots hone their job search skills.

In order to assist in advancing the career goals of ARW pilots, the ARW MEC has partnered with FAPA.aero to offer all ARW pilots on property and incoming new-hire pilots a free two-year FAPA.aero Basic Membership, which provides job-hunting and career decision assistance. Also as part of the package, the ARW MEC is conducting three identical FAPA.aero Pilot Career & Interview Skills Workshops exclusively for ARW pilots in November in Philadelphia.

Back about 4 years ago, my first day of class - first flight of IOE timeline was 64 days.

I would say +- 2 weeks.

Any new dudes with more recent timeline intel, chime in.
