Dude.... slow your roll! “Cynicism” “outrage”? 😂 I thought it was FUNNY management speak. You may be low on cynicism and outrage but your condescension tank is fully topped off. 👍🏼👍🏼

That’s the million dollar question. I know for sure that many are hoping for something sooner than later.
Not sure what you would gain with HA.

A hybrid would likely fly... keep what they have but no more.

It would depend on which management team took over. If b6 they probably wouldn’t want to give up control to a feed. If Alaska they would fight tooth and nail for what they currently have.

That's still a significant scope give for B6.

Could not be a worse idea. Niche airlines merging is a bad idea. So far the Virgin/Alaska merger has been a failure. No one knows what anyone is doing or why they are doing it or where they are doing it or who they are doing it with......And the great sucking sound is millions of dollars leaving with no return. With the JetBlue scope a divestiture of Horizon Air and an end to the CPA flying by Skywest would be required.....Never going to happen

Maybe because there’s plenty to be outraged and cynical about.

But it only cost $4.5B (cash and debt) so it was worth giving a try. Should be able to recoup that in under 30 years for sure.

Rare for a pilot group to block a merger, usually they come to some sort of compromise (although it's possible that some potential mergers were never attempted due to such contract issues).

They would be fools to give up all their scope to allow a merger to complete. And the formerly widespread Alaska battlecry of "scope doesn't matter" isn't going to work on them.
