* Give trip away, take it right back to break a hard cap of 90.
* Borrow a day trip or 2-day, swap/drop an original trip, and then give the other guy his trip back to him. Breaks lower end of 75 hr cap.
* Until the union cancelled the MOU, rsv pickup on day off. Easy way to get above 79 hrs on reserve.
* Paying attention to reserve grid, keeping an eye on new names being added as guys finish training = changing reserve grid. What wasn’t approved before may get approved now. I have to yet to fly a fully original awarded month. Whether regular line through step trade or an OF line with regular open time, I’ve always swapped stuff to something different.
* If rsv, paying attention on day 1 to try to make sure I’m not the only one available in that bucket for X amount of days. Then looking at pairing package list to see what pairings check in that day during RAP time. This works well in my base (and probably any base except SEA). And I’ll try to set up day 1 reserve to make sure there are other guys available in same RAP for same amount of days.
* Just because denied automatic trade process, taking advantage of manual trip inquiry. I’ve had many swaps approved through manual inquiry, that were originally denied in crew access auto process.

Lol bc you have nothing to contribute. Your hidden gems of the contract actually highlight how terrible our contract are if those are the “bright side” items you can come up with.

Nothing to contribute? On a thread specifically for newhires, I wrote out the ways they can get around max/min credit caps, check rsv coverage, try manual trade inquiry, etc. Call them loopholes, nuggets, whatever you like. Your comments on the contract are noted. Yes it needs improvements. Again, what I specifically said was I use the contract where I can to my own advantage. And doing so I improve my schedule to what works for me.
What have you contributed besides being miserable and a negative Nancy?

I get it, it might be good for one's mental and emotional well being to deal with this "lipstick on a pig" of a contract the way you've chosen to, but enlighten us; is this the "Glass Half Full" approach, or the "Head in the Sand" approach?

The perception that you're discounting the legitimate concerns and frustrations of others is getting stuck in the craws of many.

So do you really feel fine then? Or is it that you're really just managing to cope in this decidedly unpleasant situation?

Misery loves company. Work rules, pay, scope, QOL, etc. are not nearly as good as other legacies/SWA here at eskimo land; no one is arguing that. I don't know Shyguy but he's just saying that he's doing best trying to make play doe and bubbles out of company provided turd and dirty dish wash water. Benito and his minions love this infighting. Let's not give them the satisfaction.
