This isn’t taking advantage this is having to manipulate parts of your schedule when we shouldn’t have to from the get go.

I did not say gems. The exact words were “take advantage of whatever parts of the contract.”

Yes this is manipulation but all of it is allowed contractually, so I take advantage of these things. Obviously it’s not perfect and improvements are needed. But until those improvements are achieved via new CBA, may as well do whatever ya can to your advantage.

This all good stuff but most of it just methods for getting around the CBA's inadequacies.

Also the union technically cancelled the reserve open time pickup MOU but, the company hadn't honored it for over a year. The company is free to come back and negotiate a new MOU anytime they want.

This is just like all the legacy guys "bragging" about how they can use a single vacation day to drop a whole trip... All they're doing is using what at every other airline is an actual benefit as a bandaid for the bull$hit schedules at this airline, and all you're doing in everything you just listed is what people at every other airline can do, except in 10 extra steps and with less consistent results. If these are the kinds of things that you think you're "taking advantage of," then my guy, you need to wake the @@@k up.

This should be called, how to waste 4 hours of your day trying to do a simple trip trade. That may or may not get approved? Welcome to Alaska!

Lol he literally named nothing of value whatsoever. Other airlines go up to usually 97 hours just by picking up, most can drop to zero if coverage.

the rest of his ramblings was how he checks the reserve grid lolololololol

How easy is it to break the hard cap realistically. Can you easily break it every month?

Yes. Just give a trip to someone else and take it right back.

The APC gang up? Lucky for me, I don’t care anymore. A couple years ago I may have gone in, but now meh. I guess being angry or miserable is one way to go. It’s gonna be a long ride though until the new CBA comes. You can choose how you will be until then.
