I haven’t flown with a pilot wearing a mask after the flight deck door is closed who isn’t a massive ass. That should be your first trigger to consider calling out.
Having someone “require” me to wear a mask after the flight deck door is closed will be an immediate callout and bid avoid for life.

What is Alaska’s policy about mask in the cockpit once the door is closed? At my company we can wear one if we want, we can politely ask if the other person will wear one, but we can’t require anything. If one pilot isn’t happy that the other won’t wear a mask, they can suck it up or remove themselves from the trip.

What is Alaska’s policy about mask in the cockpit once the door is closed? At my company we can wear one if we want, we can politely ask if the other person will wear one, but we can’t require anything. If one pilot isn’t happy that the other won’t wear a mask, they can suck it up or remove themselves from the trip.
Effective immediately Alaska Airlines is implementing new mask policy to reduce / prevent high-risk COVID19 exposures. The Omicron variant now accounts for approximately 95% of positive cases in the U.S. and is having significant impacts on our nation’s critical infrastructure, Alaska Airlines is instituting this temporary policy for the remainder of January and will re-evaluate on or after January 31st.
Effective January 5th, 2021, masks will be worn at all times by all employees in the indoor/office work environment, including in the simulator and all other locations at the FTC. In the Flight Deck (FD)masks will be worn:
• Anytime the FD is open either on the ground or in the air.
• Anytime a Flight Attendant is in the FD either on the ground or in the air
• Anytime either pilot expresses a desire to have masks worn in the FD.
o In this case, the expectation is that masks will be worn unless you are actively eating/drinking, having difficulty communicating on the radio or fogging of prescription glasses causes a potential safety risk.

Yikes. So the two people most needed to stay conscious are going to have to rip off a mask and then put on an O2 mask that looses its quick don ability when you add in the step of removing the other mask in a rapid decompression situation? #safety. Don’t work at Alaska. But wow. Just wow, if that’s the case.
