With all due respect to the efforts at those properties for better treatment, I, as an Alaska pilot, would LOVE to have their problems.

I’m browsing Delta and Southwest forum sections here. They sound p***ed. Delta schedules (narrowbody) have apparently gone down the drain, guys getting fatigued left and right, and now Delta is cancelling flights for July and August.
The contract problem will be solved relatively shortly here. Then what?

Now this “playing field” you speak of, I am curious, what exactly is it, and do they even want to play on it?🤔

As someone who has worked under SWA and Alaska contracts, it’s not even a question…the sheer earning potential alone….and SWA has plenty of work to do in upcoming negotiations.
I did find it pretty funny that SWA is talked about constantly at AK. Want to know how often AK is mentioned at SW? Essentially never.
I hope Alaska gets what they deserve but it’s going to be a battle, a battle that rates alone will not solve. Great people who deserve more.

Meanwhile, here at AS our schedules have gone from BAD to down right shiddy, so you're really making an apples to oranges comparison. The bottom line is that our contract is an embarrassment compared to Delta's.
To answer your question, I believe we are so far behind that the contract we settle on will be a good one, but will still have room for improvements. Therefore after the signing, the work continues.

What a bunch of Baloney, didn’t the Arbitrator after our last disastrous contract “dictate” that we work on stuff like Scope etc.? What happened? NOTHING, so stop saying “the work continues”, it may do so in your head but there won’t be any progress… we ALL know it…
