Ran into SF yesterday at the Red carpet dinner at HQ. So I asked him how WIA was. He said that they had a continuos line wrapped around the booth every day and that they will be interviewing about 120 applicants from there alone.

The revised number of 89 hired comes directly from the ground school instructors email to us (our class has left quite an impression on the training center)

Just a bunch of really driven and motivated individuals who all got along famously with everyone. It was nice to see how we were all able to buckle down and focus, but still able to crack jokes and enjoy the experience. This has been the best training experience I've ever had at a flying job.

I love the enthusiasm, but, take it from a guy who has been on reserve for almost 4 years, if the reserve rules don't improve from their current sorry condition, you may find yourself jumping off a bridge within a year.

4 years? Really? As a Captain or FO?

Captain. I hear from some of the new hire F/O's that I fly with that they are only spending about 3-5 months on reserve.

Only 1 1/2 to 2 months for most in the November classes.

Even better. Like I said, a great company but, we voted in a union for specific reasons and the reserve rules were just one area of concern.
