I like the sound of that QXE- here's hoping! If you get the 'official notice' pass it along if you can.

Yeah you're right, who wants a union contract, high pay, work rules, benefits and a viable business model.

I am currently with my 3rd union airline to date, not too impressed...

That was funny...thanks
"Drinking the Kool-Aid"...
VX is an excellent fit for my family's lifestyle goals.
Quality vs quantity can often be very personal.
I already had a job I wanted to retire with, hope to get one more chance at it!

------------ Official News (finally!) --------------

• Increasing reserve staffing to 14% (from 10% currently)

• Hiring at least 22 new First Officers and posting at least 12 Captain upgrades, with the first new pilot class on July 17

• Hiring an additional 8 teammates to CSS to assist with day-of scheduling between Pilots and InFlight. This will also allow for better handling during IROPs.

• Creating a pilot base at JFK/EWR, with a goal of 50 full pilot crews (about 44 line holders and 6 reserves per seat).

JFK currently 18 crews: 16 lines and 2 reserves each seat.

Kool aid pic was funny but your definition needs a little work. Riding a gravy train and drinking the kool aid are two totally different ideas.

Regarding VX stability and financials- Heard from the new COO that if you did a one year look back from June 1, 2013 (so the period covering 6/1/2012 to 6/1/2013), the company shows a full year operating profit. Now the financial world, DOT and others do not look at that so it is not significant news in terms of how the public will see it, but he pointed it out as a sign that the company has indeed turned the corner. They are projecting a healthy operating profit for Q2 and even a net profit, with Q3 looking even better.

EWR has launched very well and looks like the LAX-EWR route will be one of our top 2-3 routes (SFO-DCA is the king by a pretty decent margin). UAL's efforts to squash us in this market have not succeeded and management is very happy with EWR.

Default JFK/EWR seniority

So now the question is how soon can a new hire hold JFK/EWR out of training?
