Indeed.
Are you that stupid?

I wasn't throwing stones. I was pointing out how ironic it is for a self-proclaimed Delta pilot (you) saying new entrants like VX are one less job at a career legacy airline, whereas the evidence shows that the #1 killer of mainline jobs has been the outsourcing of RJs that Delta has done from the mid 90s with Comair and since. 53 VX A320s haven't parked a single Delta jet nor laid off a Delta pilot. However, several *hundred* RJs have single handedly replaced mainline jets and jobs on the DC9, 727, and the 737-2.

But keep telling yourself otherwise. It's VX that is really taking one good mainline job away, not those shiney new CRJ-900s flying DFW to LGA or ORD to LGA. Right.

And the several hundreds of VX/JB/etc LCC growth airframes are going to be filled with magical pax from where exactly in the multiverse? Oh and bonus: one or more will flail around desperately trying to go long haul international. I suppose that's all "organic" pax growth as well?

VX hasn't really made a dent to Delta, it's just one carrier competing in the transcon market. One might argue, America West was doing transcons too, JFK-LAX for example. Now as US Airways, they don't do that anymore. VX came after AWA and filled in the gap, so in this case yes it all nets out in the end. And even that pales in comparison to what RJs have done to mainline jobs, so your argument really doesn't hold any ground. Fact. Years ago, DFW-LGA was big mainline jets. Today, it's all Delta Connection. There are countless examples of this. To reiterate, there has been no single greater loss of mainline jobs than outsourcing to regionals.

I, including 2 others that I've kept in touch with got the good news letter. And I think two (that I've heard of) got the no thanks. There were 9 of us so 4 are unaccounted for. There was a May 7th interview, one of which was a buddy of mine who got the no thanks.

I'd say most of the early B6 folks made a choice to take a risk with a start-up, much like the original SWA folks made many years ago. During the early years B6 was very competitive to get hired with, because no other major airlines were hiring post 9/11. Can't tell you the countless United guys that chose "poorly" during the 1990's and turned down SWA, how are they feeling now, they would probably be captains at SWA?

I remember guys in the Air Force saying your crazy to go to B6 they will be out of business in a few years. Well, here we are, and my friends that waited for Delta have been stagnant on the seniority list for many years. Now the Delta folks will do very well with upcoming retirements and B6 will move slowly on the seniority list, to each their own.

VX guys....Make your decision based on what's best for you and your family. Folks at the Legacies who blame their current situation on Start-ups have their own problems. VX could be out of business in a few years or merged or bought. That has to be a risk you are willing to take, in the mean time do your best to improve your benefits and pay. Don't pay attention to the critics, they made their choice, you make yours.

There were 4 of 7 of us that got the good news email from the April 25th interview. I recently heard from a source that there could be 6 a month starting with the July class. Anyone else hearing something similar?

That's what I have unofficially heard as well. Have you guys been instructed to take the drug test yet?

Yes, we all completed it. I also got the notice from the FAA that they did my record search as well.

Dude, just go back to your Delta cockpit, and sit and point fingers at everyone else but yourself. Maybe your dream will come true, and Delta will be the only carrier standing, with every airline's seniority list stapled under you.
