With any big issue there will always be 5 or 6 boobs who dedicate their life to arguing their opinion ad naseum on the interwebs. They of course have an inside track with some mgt person who they believe have bared their soul to them and had being entirely forthright and honest about their intentions for the future. Statements like "ask Brad and Ben, they will tell you."

The truly interesting ones create new accounts for the express purpose of engaging in these behaviors. It is always fun, years down the road, to see how wildly far off these folks were with there prognostications of certainties they believed would come true.

Andy, and his endless drivel, though intelligent sounding, about the financial demise of VA lasted for almost a decade, comes quickly to mind. He was not right about anything, ever. Not his fault, he just didn't have the facts and never would. Those are kept behind the veil.

Every single time....

No different here. MEA25000 is obviously that guy, along with a supporting cast of bit players that will play this cycle out for the next couple years. My guess is their prognostications about this and that will be wildly off base, or at least not accurate enough to reflect anything that actually comes to pass.

I will offer mine now.

When the merger is said and done and the bases and flying are blended, MEA25000 and ShyGuy will meet on a layover, start talking and realize who each other is from APC. They will fall madly in love, run away together, and we will get to watch the first APC pilot/pilot wedding hosted by APC and streamed live from the LAX Hilton while they are both on a 16 hour overnight.

You heard it here first...

Haha that's actually pretty funny

I hardly have any posts in this particular thread. Trying to lay low in this whole merger thing.

I will take your bet. I am not even a pilot. I know nothing. I don't even work for Alaskan Airways. Take a few minutes and go to flightinfo.com. You will see I put out our post'k' contract a month before it hit the press, called the furlough and # that would be furloughed 4 months before it came out, put out the October 2012 purchase order in August of 2012.... And on and on. So your right I have a written record of being one thing... Right on the money. In 2 years you will look back and say he was right. Then you will probably make something else up about me.. Like Mea is fat, management puke, ugly, not a pilot, RETARDED. Say what you want soon you will realize I am one thing, that is never wrong!

Did you check... How about it, was I right? Did it all happen the way I said? Isn't it all time date and stamped in the past on flight info? Common Reggie? What is it? How did this two bit player do that? I honestly bet you are even a nice guy, I am sure I will meet you on a layover, buy all your drinks, tell you funny stories... You will walk away thinking, that was fun, he really is a great guy! Don't worry shy, I will buy your drinks too. I have lived a fortunate life, and I honestly know I haven't earned any of it.

Alaska Makes 87.3 million and is still the F word
Alaska's mainline operating revenue per available seat mile (ASM) increased 0.9 percent, and its operating cost per ASM excluding fuel and the special items mentioned above increased 2.9 percent. Alaska's total pretax income for the quarter was $87.3 million, compared to pretax income of $80.9 million in 2007. Excluding the mark-to- market fuel hedge adjustments and fleet transition charges, Alaska would have reported a pretax loss of $15.6 million for the quarter, compared to pretax income of $82.4 million in the second quarter of 2007.

Alaska Makes 87.3 million dollars which is a better ratio then even SWA and we are going to shrink capacity. I was told 150 letters to be sent out to our pilots september first. AAG management and their Alaska Spirit!

When was the furlough announced Reggie and how many?

Well I guess I am ready to be laughed off this site. AS and Boeing are right now working on an enhanced purchase package that would have AS hiring 630 between now and 2018. That is a 0 retirement number and could be as much as 200 to 300 on the low side since we know some will retire during that time. Hope it all gets worked out but I know we all remember 2000 in 2000. Hold on Angle Lake is feeling pressure to grow or they will be forced to merge.

--Hey Reggie when was the purchase order announced?--

8 for the first year then

3, 2, 2, 2... And they think that this is extremely generous... with an increase in healthcare. They think profit sharing brings us to parity with our peers. Doesn't SWA DAL UAL all have profit sharing. Oh that's right Ben they do.

Those are the exact #s boys... No joke company thinks it will pass by at least 60%. Sadly they just might be right!

--When did our contract come out Reggie ?... What were the pay raises? What did our contract pass by?--
