Alaska Air Hiring
#3321

Realistically, they are probably not big enough to justify the overhead on two fleet types... unless they're going to merge again.

Alaska meets the definition of a legacy, and a major. It does NOT meet the definition of a regional. Lets just clear that up. Your definitions are not really officially recognized terms. There is no "major national" and technically Alaska, JB and SWA go international. BTW all the airlines you listed are majors by definition.... Not sure why we keep trying to muddy waters with weird and nonstandard definitions.
Size of the airline has been a much more effective (unfortunately) tool in determining pay than labeling it a national, major or legacy ever has.

Lol...
If you have to explain it...

Look around these boards. Every airline is experiencing some kind of slow down or pull back. Everyone’s costs are going up with oil. My personal belief is the cycle has run its course and we’re ALL in for a few slow years.

There’s a big difference between going from M.80 to LRC and going from M.78 to MCA. Btw, the letter states the reason for the slow down is lossed profitability due to A. Cost of oil (which has started to come back down) B. Increased wages and benefits (Prepping the ground for 2020) and C. Increased competition “on a level Alaska’s never experienced...”and the fact that at our already lower price ticket structure, our competitors have started rolling prices below ours (Delta putting their foot on the gas and Southwest stepping up their march forward.)
Yeah. Just an industry-wide slowdown. Riiiiiiight. 🤔
