good for him. Hopefully he’s enjoying a mai tai somewhere warm and sandy... far far away from this train wreck.

Yeah. I think it was also the quickest that a pilot has been re-accepted to Active ALPA after being a management person.

Potential applicants.. it should really tell you something that the usual Alaska airlines koolaid drinkers touting how great this place is aren’t anywhere to be found.. even their 85 year old super koolaid is starting to sour. Stay away. Go to a real airline with real potential!

Save your breath. Nothing any of us says will change minds one way or the other. The AS boards have been pretty quiet over the last few weeks. I think most folks have stayed away from posting out of exhaustion from repeating themselves. Nothing new has been said from either the pro or con groups. I said it many times during the negotiation/arbitration. AS will not have a problem hiring new pilots because there will always be pilots coming from worse situations willing to fill the seats. Instead of focusing on the “no one will come here” theory, they should have demanded we get an industry leading contract based on our hard work and profitability. All I can say is if you come here, be willing to fight for improvements. We deserve a much better contract and most of us are ready to throw down for it.

I’m not sure that’s gonna be a viable expectation at this point. The Union can’t call for it legally and those that grab it show no signs of stopping. But, there are other significant gaps in the armor to be exploited. Just trying to get all the pieces (admittedly late) together so we don’t go off half cocked. Don’t need another orange lanyard campaign result... or.... zero.

Notice I said "most of us". No ship can ever be completely free of barnacles.

We have too many tripping over themselves to pick up that precious time-and-a-half trip or two or ten.

These people will NEVER stop. They talk a big game about how they'll stop if this and that happens. But they are hooked on the crackpipe and that's just a way of life for them now.

Some of these guys even wore the orange lanyard last year, but they are all out for themselves. They couldn't care less about the collective good. They don't care about the junior pilots or those on reserve.
