It's comfortable, quiet, spacious, has a tray to put your food on, doesn't make a crazy amount of noise with that trim wheel, doesn't have 1960s panels... It's the opposite of the 73'
I really don't know. If I end up at Alaska, I'll fly the Boeing. I'll fly the 'bus.

Look, I'm just a regional pogue, and a relatively junior FO at that, but I'm a PNW native and I grew up watching Alaska Airlines aircraft coming and going from SEA, talking to some of you guys at Crest and Thun back when I was hoping that someday I'd get a PPL, and hoping some day that might even be me flying for AS.
And yeah, even after reading this cr@p I probably wouldn't turn down an offer there if one ever came my way.
But frankly guys, this thread is starting to embarrass the h€|| out of me. You sound an awful lot like junior high kids. Like you were 'doing dozens' on the playground, except you are the wrong ethnic group and can't get into the lingo properly so you come across as adolescent braggart pseudo-tough guys who are just pathetic.
Could you please just stop? Because I've got kids you see, and they are intelligent and polite and - perhaps unfortunately - they have Internet access too. And they know their daddy is an airline pilot, even if only a very very junior one. And I'd hate like H€|| for them to somehow discover this thread and read it and think that this is what airline pilots are really like.
And before you jump on me for even being here and having an opinion, please note that this is the "hiring" thread. Presumably you guys doing all the back and forth already have jobs here.

Nobody hates the bus. It’s a narrow body a/c that pays just like the 737. I’ve not heard one person say they hate the Airbus. I’m sure a lot of us may even like the chance to fly one. This has devolved into 737 PILOTS vs. 320 PILOTS. The airplanes have nothing to do with this nonsense. The company has expressed their desire to replace the Airbus a/c with Boeing a/c and if anyone acknowledges that, the attack dogs come running out and change the discussion into a fabricated desire to see the loss of airframes and the stagnation of the company. It’s a defense mechanism. Again, I reiterate, NOBODY HATES THE BUS OR WANTS TO SEE AN A/C LEAVE PROPERTY.

I love how these loud mouth VX’ers on here seem to believe that with them, “there’s a new sheriff in town”. You guys don’t know what you’re dealing with. Good Luck...what with your huge balls and all. LOL. I’ll check back in 2021 and see how the new Big balled Sheriffs have fared...oh, and I only made $365k last year. I commute.😬

Dude this is not a war... you keep battling the Vietcong, I am gonna enjoy my life. It’s a job, a pretty good job, I am going to play on the water, spend time with friends and family. I am only coming in this summer if it’s $400 an hour. You guys treat us 737 guys like *******, I wouldn’t give up a penny an hour for commutability at this point. You guys wanted relative seniority, remember that. Yeah, we all have your backs right. Leave, you all spout off, tell us your gone, go! You guys tell me I am selfish, no I am happy, all you care about is yourselves. You hate anyone who has done well, you hate anyone that lives in base, everyone must be miserable like you. You all only know how to ****, moan, and make up lies. I guarantee the most we are getting in 2020 is a 5 hour guarantee per day, scope, and 3% cola. So you fight your war, stroke out, and I will spend the sunny days on the water drinking red stripe. You stay hunkered down in your foxhole with 5 of your closest VX buddies, misery loves company.

I never said the VX pilots made this contract the worst in the industry, I’m saying you did noting at your shop to show up with anything better. You basically came to the potluck with no food and are now complaining to those that brought something, that their food sucks. It may suck but they didn’t show up empty handed.
Its apples and oranges..
We never had a chance to negotiate/re-negotiate a contract, but we all know what a good contract should look like and I am positive that if our negotiations were left to be played out, we would have ended up with a decent one.
For starters, even though we never had a contract, our QOL and Scheduling T and Cs were much better than AS's and we would have been negotiating to improve upon what was already status quo.
So, not because we didn't bring a meal to the party, (a party we didn't care for but was forced to attend mind you), does it mean that we have somehow lost the right to comment on the crappy food at the party my friend....

You feel like you got robbed of a shot at a good contract. I feel like I got robbed of a shot at a good contract. You didn’t want to come to the AS “party”. I didn’t invite you guys to come to the “party”. You feel like your QOL has taken a big hit. I feel like my QOL will take a big hit when the bidding opens up. The list goes on and on Biz... It seems we have more in common than not.
Your management put you up for sale and my management laid down the cash. This is their mess. Unfortunately, many of your compatriots don’t seem to understand this. The difference between me and them is I can acknowledge the contract I agreed to work under was inferior to many others. They can’t. They seem to be, as they would put it, “in a bubble”. They seem to have, again to borrow one of their favorite turns of phrase, “drunk the VX kool-aid”.
I’ve accepted this is the new normal and am ready to move forward but when you guy break out the soap box and preach, I call B.S.
