They are in fact closing it. But with the Maxi pad issues and delayed deliveries they ate going to kick the can into 2022. The more they can whittle down SFO with Boeing additions the cheaper it gets to close it up. Things will likely begin to occur in early 2022

Alaska Airlines hiring:
+/- 250 new pilots to be online by summer 2022, classes to begin this November.
Capability to hire 40/month, up to 60/month(maybe)
30%-50% of the new pilot positions will likely go to Horizon pilots.
Hiring window will open early July.

TT: 4500
PIC: 2000 (primarily mil turbine helo)
A320/CRJ type ratings (Part 121 regional and LCC)
I met recruiters at WIA in 2019 which I believe was the reason I got a call. GREAT group of people and an excellent experience. The entire hiring team was fantastic all the way through the interview process.

When they cancelled our CJOs they did tell us we had to reapply and there was no mention of any preferential looks if/when things resumed. I plan on applying again. They were graceful about having to let us go and I fully understand why they did it (as much as it stung).

What a completely Alaska thing to do, and by this I mean deceitful, backhanded, disgusting, and utterly inappropriate thing to do. In no way am I surprised to read this as Alaska management is very anti pilot and has never given a rats behind about the pilot group in general.
This guys friend and you should thank your lucky stars that Alaska did this to you though, you’ll be at delta or ual soon since they are opening the flood gates and will never have to spend a single day at this godforsaken miserable excuse for an airline.
