When will Alaska mainline be hiring next? Is it worth going to Horizon to “get” to Alaska or is it better to apply from the outside?

Depends on your qualifications and blackmarks. If you have a decent resume you can probably get hired by one of the legacies in the current environment.

Many flows these days will have limits on OTS hiring opportunities, such as if you apply OTS you lose flow, or if you interview OTS and fail you also lose flow so make sure you understand the rules... and also accept that the rules can change with no notice.

Also bear in mind that flow does NOT exist to man mainline... it exists to ATTRACT and RETAIN pilots at regionals. Being RETAINED may not be in your long-term best interest.

There isn’t a true flow from Horizon to Alaska, there is an interview “pathway”.
