Does Alaska Airlines have a scope clause? Just curious.

Any idea as to why or if that will be corrected?

It won't be corrected until all new Alaska flying goes to the 175, ala SkyWest. Seriously, scope needs to be PRIORITY 1.

It won't be corrected until all the senior guys who say stuff like "scope is not worth the paper it's written on" retire. Maybe things will change as the pilot group gets younger. I think pilots coming from the regionals have a better understanding of scope than the pilots who have been on the property for 25+ years.

At the end of the day, we have to be willing to fight for it. There won't be a quick fix and contract negotiations will drag out for a long time. Do we have the patience? Can we stomach long, drawn-out negotiations for big gains? Or, will we roll over and accept the very first TA presented to us?

Anyway, I'm not trying to hijack the thread. Back to hiring, interviews, applications, career fairs, etc.

There also needs to be a cultural change. Right now the senior pilots are much more concerned with merger protection and even more than that pension protection. Oh and the all mighty dollar... Which is why our top of scale is close to our peers but bottom of scale is not.

Agreed! FO pay compared to CA pay is slightly less percentage-wise than it was before last year's contract.

67% of Alaskan Airways pilot group do not care for scope nor the person sitting next to him/her. To the new hires, welcome aboard and enjoy the honeymoon!
