EXACTLY MY POINT!!!! These things can or cannot happen in the blink of an eye so it would be pretty effin stupid for someone to say things like, "done in three weeks," "done by the end of summer", "we'll be wearing different uniforms soon" etc., etc. BECAUSE HE DOESN'T FRIGGIN KNOW HOW ANY OF THIS WILL TURN OUT....But thanks for proving my point

Let's say, for arguments sake, 100% of this is true. Why wouldn't you wait to see if what you "hear", goes beyond the rumor phase, before you start dropping it on the group like it's gospel?? Do you maybe see why you've lost credibility here? You are essentially a "gossip". You hear something, then rush to whisper it into the nearest set of ears, not waiting to see if what you've heard has legs. I think it would behoove you to let the next hot tip, simmer in the pot a little longer before you dish it out to the pilot group....because as it stands you're 0-3 on MnA predictions.
Well everyone, in other news, the world is flat!

so not rumors but must be taken with a grain of salt??.....soooo, embellished truths??? The definition of a rumor is: 1. talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source. 2. A statement or report current without known authority for its truth. I can't hold your hand on this beyond this post but my point is, he speaks in absolutes about things that, as you graciously pointed out, are not absolute..... do you not see the difference between, "AS is looking at making moves should the JB/NK deal go through" vs. "AS will be making a cash offer to buy JB in 3 weeks" or "Brad likes the idea of acquiring HA" vs. "AS will be buying HA by the end of summer"....

I prefer hearing the speculation knowing it's just internet board talk.

The responses to OTZ posts are based on the specific audience. Alaska closing SFO is drastically different than United buying AS. Still stands that he’s just throwing out guesses. Or I guess the BM and BT just casually told OTZ about everything going on behind closed doors. Makes sense.

Why would Seattle be in jeopardy? It's the only reason any other airline would have any interest in an acquisition of, or merger with, AS. Especially UAL. It's the only major hub a company, other than maybe DAL, wouldn't have to give up gates in.

Here’s what it boils down to. Is United, American, Delta, or Southwest buying Alaska? Almost certainly not. Is Alaska merging with JetBlue, Sun Country, Hawaiian, Avelo, Spirit, Frontier, or Allegiant? Probably not. Have there been discussions about any of the above? Probably. Is Alaska going to slog along trying to exist as they have all along? Most Likely.
