Management wants concessions in scheduling/work rules, we want to erase concessions from bankruptcy that are still there. We haven't even opened the section about pay rates.

This is still the same playbook they’ve been using when we first started negotiation.
After months of no progress, leadership comes in and has “productive talks” with the union about moving things forward and our goals seem to be finally aligning. We get a Union podcast/letter saying things are looking up. Then, 2 weeks later, they have another meeting where they’re gonna iron out the details… except BM and ST don’t show. Instead, it’s JW and some other underling who don’t have the power to actually agree to anything, but they are free to renege on all the “productive” discussion that previously occurred.
I certainly hope that isn’t the case this time around, but I’ve seen this dog and pony show a few too many times.

I expect BM and ST to be there in 9 days. I expect early progress and then gridlock. I expect to hear on the 26th from the union that “we are still miles apart.” Memorial weekend will be an absolute disaster, management will finally realize this will never work without a fair deal. I expect a TA June 3rd. Without it, our brand will be destroyed over the summer, irreparable harm the board can’t let happen.
