Wall street doesn’t care if you increase frequency. Weren’t you all complaining about 20 flights a day from SEA to PDX using a 321 just a couple of years ago?

As more efficient airplanes come on board, RASM goes up and CASM stays the same or down as long as labor contacts don’t blow out of proportion. Investors don’t care if there is a San Diego or JFK base or that you operate 2 flights to IND instead of one. They care that revenue is increasing, be it by RASM, ancillary fees, credit card revenue or any other metric that shows that Alaska can grow.

Most importantly, that Alaska can grow REVENUE. Alaska always means “grow revenue” anytime they speak of “growth”. Does not mean that a base opens, seniority list movement, route structure increase or any of the other ways that pilots seem to gauge “growth” . It does mean that the checks cash on the 5th and the 20th. Only metric that matters. It is just a job after all. Super simple job.

Ok, I'm out of the loop at the moment, is Alaska currently interviewing or are things on pause?? Also does it mean anything at all if my App status is Under Review? Thanks

Good morning Eskimo drivers,

Just wanted to get a gauge on how competitive I'd be, as I am nearing 500 121 hours. Currently flying for a regional with zero affiliation to AS. 4 year degree with a clean checkride/line check record and an internal letter of recommendation. Would love to apply as soon as I hit 500. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They seem to start looking seriously at most applicants once they have upgraded. Some have been hired from the regionals without upgrading, however.

If you were a legacy brat or you bolster the pillars of hiring then you might be good to go. If you are none of those than you need to upgrade first

took me upgrading and getting PIC time before I got the nod to interview. Two internal letters of rec and sat down with a CP to get the nod. Our class was filled with many who didn’t have 121 PIC nor TPIC however.

Are we supposed to dress up full suit for the chief meet and greet? I didn’t see anywhere where it says otherwise so I’m planning to wear the full suit as of now. I know other airlines don’t want you in a full suit for these events so wanted to ask if anyone has attended these and knows.

I would think just business casual for a meet and greet.. full suit for the interview. I’ve been out of the interview scene for a while, but when I did my meet and greet in Los Angeles years ago I did slacks, shirt/tie with no jacket.
