Copy all. My CJO expires September of 25 so if AS isn't starting anyone until October of 25 I'll be left without a job so I might as well shoot my shot. Was supposed to start this fall according to the last email that was sent to CJO pool in Feb...I get thats not happening but since they have been lost comms since Feb and all the pilots on here seem to think classes won't start for a year, I'm getting nervous.
Regionals won't entertain an interview without signing your life away for 1600pic hrs and the ones that don't require a contract won't touch me with 1800hrs of 737 time because they aren't stupid. Weird hiring environment with this max issue pushing most majors starting dates to late spring early summer.

CJO's only stand for the original certificate that issued them. When you get hired post merger announcement, it's strict DOH for seniority. You would only be assigned to the certificate that issued the CJO, while the certificates are still separate (it takes a couple years typically to actually merge certs). At least that's how it worked in the past.
If your priority is your domicile location, for family or whatever reason, take a class date with the certificate that's most likely to get you to that base sooner.
Otherwise if you're flexible, take the first class date you can get on either certificate. That will get you the best possible seniority position.

This is my theory as well. we know demand has softened. So we are obviously staffed at appropriate levels. I think they are going to wait till the dust has settled a little so they can make fleet and staffing plans. Will also have a little better idea the economy and boeing situation.

hiring happens when it happens and stops when it stops. The people that make those decisions do so with information that can and does change.

After the VA merger their was a long pause as well. I would guess they want to take account of all the variables in play between the two route structures before making manning decisions.
