Alaska is pivoting to become the West Jest of the US.

I think even at a premium of the share price before the announcement, they believe that they are still getting Hawaiian for a steal.

I'm optimistic about their plans..

Distressed or not, AS management knows how to shrink to comfortability. It really isn't going to be any more of a rough ride than VX. This wasn't an overnight snap decision. I can promise you, the numbers work and the boxes have been checked by AS. They already have a fleet plan, a route structure plan, they know where they are cutting, and they know they are going to structure the airline.

wait, I thought we were a rudderless ship? No we have people that know how to run an airline? So confusing!!!

They assume all of Hawaiian's debt in addition to the share price.

You being a cheerleader for the company and giving the HAL guys any impression that HNL will remain unscathed does them a massive disservice. You've seen how the sausage is made, they haven't. Be honest with them, and yourself. Their QOL is going to take a hit.

This is the key take away. Shrinkage in traditional HAL markets is about to happen.

That is classic FUD. You're trying to extrapolate your "disappointment" experience with VX. Let it go. Lets start from scratch.

It's so hilarious to watch the Kool-aid drinkers trying to police other members.

Keep your assumptions to yourselves. None of us know how this merger is going to play out, and all we have is history to refer to.

A very disruptive, unproductive history of mergers.

Even with a history of messy disruptive mergers, they've continued to print money.

You've gotta give them that...
