For anyone hired since December of 2023 it's all the same.

No recent updates from the company, but the update from the latest ALPA podcast:

- one class just started
- one, maybe two, more class(es) this year
- approximately 100 new hires total through the first quarter of 2026 (including the class that just started)

Default 15 Minute Phone Call

Does anyone have any data/info on the 15 minute phone call that Alaska performs in their hiring process? I applied in August and received an email today for a 15 minute phone call 'to discuss the next steps in the interview process'.

I saw that JohnnySmith posted that he was going to have this phone call towards the end of August, however, I couldn't find any data regarding the call.

Thank you for any information anyone may provide.

- Question 1: why Alaska and not Delta?

- Then be prepared to start lying…..DO mention culture, all the woketarded buzz words, and Seattle. DO NOT mention pay, bases, time off, seniority progression, reserve rules, scheduling flexibility, profit sharing, or anything else that is actually important to a pilots career.

-interview over

I recently did the phone interview and it consisted of two questions: "walk me through your resume", and "why Alaska?". After that was the invite for the in-person interview, choosing a date, and a brief discussion of what to expect.

Good luck!

Not really helpful.

Culture *might* be a good topic, but ONLY if you can elaborate in detail and are familiar with the history and current official corporate core values (I can't help you with that ). Helps if you know somebody(s) so you can plausibly say that you like what you hear about the culture.

Looks like the OP might be military... if they ask how AS can succeed, DON'T start telling them how to grow international route structures, etc. As an airline line-swine cog in the machine, you role in success is operational safety and reliability, and complying with the core values.

OK to discuss domiciles if you're interested in PDX, ANC, or SEA. Given that there are no strict assurances as to the future of Delta's SEA science project, you can probably say that you're more comfortable with your long-term career prospects with AS in SEA (especially now, #787s). Even better if you have demonstrable personal ties to one of those zip codes.

They can't ask, but if you're planning on doing guard/reserve in or near one of those bases, they might view that as a stability plus... you don't want to be commuting when you have two jobs.
