right I know it’s last June bids data but I would reckon people wanting to upgrade last bid will want to upgrade this bid and we may have downgrades adding to the upgrade que

Probably not. The times probably dipped like the rest of the industry. Sub 5 year upgrades aren’t sustainable for career companies. Maybe they are and I’m wrong. Constant uninterrupted growth sounds great.

And yet we had people here on APC who thought they would upgrade in PDX in under 5….

I am at year 5 with no upgrade in sight and haven’t seen meaningful movement in many years. I feel like I may have made a huge mistake coming here. However, the good news is I have other sources of income.

I’m honestly shocked anyone still wants to come here—there’s zero growth, zero hiring, and zero retirements.

Same here, negative movement 5 years in sucks.
I’m urging friends to go anywhere but here. The craziest part is the company and anyone in the training department when I’m at CQ will continue to preach explosive growth and how it’s such an incredible time to be here.

It even went as far our instructors asking us if we wanted to see the new 78 sim after I repeatedly said no “aren’t you excited? You’ll be flying heavies very soon?” Absolutely wild

Gone are the days of getting offers from 4 or 5 majors and having your pick of the litter. People take the first offer they get and generally stay. If you've been here 5 years you have decent seniority. We're back to Southwest-like upgrades and will stay there until we start getting meaningful deliveries. That's assuming gas prices come down before the end of the year, which isn't a given.

No not sustainable without ridiculously unrealistic growth.

If average pilots spends 30 years at his major, and 60% of pilots are CA's, that's a 12 year average upgrade.

Add in some realistic growth and you get maybe 10 years.

Account for those who bypass, you can maybe typically sneak in at the 8 year point (but then stagnate and maybe get forced back down).

That is pretty spot on with a single fleet. Fleet diversity changes everything.
