Do we really want current pilots settling scores on people from their past, by getting them fired from this company for past acts, most likely after they have quit their previous job and started here? Not only is that unfair, lawyers would probably have a field day with it. It could definitely lead to demographic biases as well. Bad apples tend to make themselves known without anyone pointing them out. Trust the system, and let it work. Sometimes, people learn lessons and change their ways too. Just because they were a butthead to you in the past, doesn't mean they are still buttheads. I'm not a fan of blackball lists. If they can pass an interview and make it through training, they deserve a chance. If they are buttheads here or screw up, it will be addressed here. That's fair.

I completely agree! Great way to identify the the 10%ers. Also, it’s a great way to recommend someone you didn’t know had applied. Maybe they had an average interview, but a few good recs from current pilots could be the deciding factor for a job offer.

But lemme ask you one more thing. Did you think maybe I’ve never actually looked at this list and I was just going off what the other guy said? Either way, I don’t believe in blackball lists. Everyone deserves a fair shot until they prove they don’t. It shouldn’t be a popularity contest. Please tell me you have nothing to do with hiring over there in your flight ops management job.

Ah yes my mistake, I did assume you were familiar with the list before posting about it. By the way, just to help out with your last reply in the base thread, if you want to read the last flying outlook it has the actual reason why JQF will not be opening as a base this year.
The list was actually created in the interest of safety. We have had more than 1 that had to be let go for that reason. After the fact several mentioned the unsafe reputation they had at their previous job. On the other side of the coin you may have someone who is an excellent pilot but just not a good person. They fall into the 1% of seniority list where 90% of their regional coworkers are taking a QOL hit and setting their pref bid to avoid them. That type of atmosphere can really break down CRM. There are some negatives to the list but overall it was a good thing, although this is a moot point now with it gone.
