Nah it was down $1.60. The results were known & already priced into the recent rise. Individual investors trying to invest based on news are hopelessly outgunned.

Except that Allegiant was the only major airline to decline today.

Big Investors generally know the news before it's published.

Tell that to Hawaiian after their earnings call yesterday they were down double digits. Meta was up 17% today after their call.

I don’t think you are saying that earnings calls are irrelevant but that’s what it looks like…

Sorry Nate....total dog-and-pony show. They all went to the same B-school, vacation on the same islands, members of the same country clubs. Country clubs to which we are very much not welcome. Okay I exaggerate but what I was really getting at is the individual investor is not on an even playing field with institutional investors that participate in these calls.

Does anyone have the number for that lady who is scheduling the free sunseeker tours for the investors? I wanna see if I can get in on that.

Or ALGT is up 6.65% in after hours trading...

but those earnings calls mean nothing. Again see Hawaiian after they poo pooed international travel demand in their earnings call and why there were down double digits.

of course they have a good idea on the past performance, but they obviously get new, updated info and guidance which in turn can lead to swings in the stock price immediately following an earnings call. Otherwise how else do you explain some of the big swings in trading immediately following an earnings call? Its not just a bunch of individual retail investors on robinhood...

When you buy back 30m in stock, the stock stabilizes. Board of directors also approved an additional 100m to buy back stock.

I’m still shocked Redmond referenced mid year for a new pilot contract. Who else heard that? Curious to see the transcript because that sounded like a flat out lie when he said…

Who cares they can simply attribute it to union intransigence. They’ve proven now they can shrink (a little) to profitability & meanwhile they have a $100MM/yr. break on pilot costs. This will go on for years.

If the stock is gonna perform well by shrinking ti profitability then it will just solidify that we will be in mediation for at least a 2-3 years.

I just checked again and the stock was up 10.23% in after hours trading. Unless the mass exodus actually occurs (which is becoming less likely imo) then management is gonna be laughing all the way to the bank with the 100m savings in pilot compensation.
