Now folks, I’ve gotta tell ya…the BUS slate? That whole operation’s being steered by Rob S. I flew with him back when he was a first officer, and bless his heart… let’s just say, he wasn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Putting him in charge of our entire union would be like handing the car keys to somebody who still can’t find reverse.
I’m voting Blue skies, no question about it. And from what I’ve been hearing out there, just about everybody else feels the same way.

This is a ridiculous conversation, who is less GU?The simple fact is both are in Greg’s pocket. RJ set this whole situation into motion doing with false claims, none of which he had the “integrity” to bring forward until Andrew won the election. The other probably facetimes GU before bed. The only way forward is to decert and get a real union on property. A vote for either slate is a vote for more of the same.

Blue skies is at least TELLING us they are going to take a new approach and focus on results that pilots actually care about based on survey data, etc.
who really knows.

Man….I know yall are in it worse than me, but I hate the soap opera. Fingers crossed things get ironed out. I for one, would love to come on board and fly trips for G4. The feels I get from reading these threads are similar to what its like listening to the Dems/Reps during this govt. shutdown. All the back and forth finger pointing and nothing getting accomplished.

maybe. Unity is telling you that will be exactly the same, fight, fight, fight. Same strategy and philosophy that we’ve dealt with for years. All bark and no bite. Zero results. Anybody here for more than 4 years and under 50 has lost millions in retirement alone.

We really need to be more concerned with who is on the slates and how they will manage this union. You have former company management that can’t even form a sentence without using ChatGPT, and who has questionable alliances. You have a candidate for president that lied under oath and is probably solely responsible for us being in trusteeship and not having a contract. The other candidate had some serious legal accusations made against him by his wife, and doesn’t really have any qualifications other than being willing to be GU’s stooge.
Both are poison pills, only way out of this is to realize we aren’t truck drivers and need a real union.

To read every post explaining why G4 is screwed would take some time, however it should be required reading if you want to apply there. the TD;DR version is:
Toonsters national took over the union because someone used a credit card to buy chapstick toothpaste and cold medicine while going to a negotiating meeting. Toonsters airline division got shut down (it should have, it was horrible) so GU was basically left to run the 'airline' side of the union. He's trying to justify his job and possibly re-create the airline division by getting G4 a contract better than Delta.
The mini base mafia wants this because they sit RSV and fly less than 2 times a month and want to be paid WideBody international rates for sitting on their boats. It's a cake life, no lie. But it's psychotic to think any company would agree to anything near that.
Pilots were promised a 30%ish pay override each month the contract isn't signed. And the reason ALPA failed is because enough pilots believe they would lose that Monopoly Money if they switched from Toonsters. (DON'T KNOW IF THAT IS THE CASE OR NOT FOR PAYOUT SO DON'T @ME)
Contract is stalled 'mostly' (this is old information things might be updated) because of scheduling and scope. Most everything else the company already agreed to with pay being the final key once they 'cost' the contract, and that hasn't been done. Company thinks they can just remove all the pilots and act as a middleman for a Mexican airline that operates into the US. This after the failed SwampSeeker debacle where they lost something like $1 Billion. And for scheduling they want 70% unstacking PBS.
