Delta just announced capacity cuts and they own a d*mn refinery.

United shaved 5% of Q2 and Q3 capacity.

IBT may have truly f*cked over 1,400 pilots in a manner that’s nearly unimaginable. Once in a generation leverage and GU p*ssed it away.

We’re entering an arena where begging for scraps might not get you sh*t.

If we have anything similar to 2008 revenue will be up 40% YOY again for you. ALGT thrives in downturns and is setup to easily pull double digit profit margins with $100/barrel oil.

This week was the last straw. If nothing happened this week then nothing will. Time to update the resume. The only way this place will learn is through action. I hope G4 bleeds pilots.

Not sure why a G4 pilot would stick around if you guys can’t get a deal done. Ya, ya, retention bonus. But if you have the option to go somewhere else, I would. Base consolidation in the future and the day turn model will almost certainly get corrupted by Amazon and the trip model Sun Country brings.

Writing on the wall. Not going to be the same Allegiant as before when the merger is all said and done. Same for Sun Country pilots. Why stay and gamble if you have other options?

I like the sentiment but that’s absurd. The world is entirely different from 2008.

when oil was up in 2022 after Russia invading Ukraine, G4 op margin was 4%

the recession destroyed everybody. This K shaped economy is fundamentally different than 2008-2011

the legacies are way more formidable than they were 20 years ago.

4% in 2022 includes the sunseeker, airline only was 7% margin with utilization way down and irregular ops. That’s a good number in this industry in a normal year and they pulled it off in 2022 with $4/gal fuel and not running on all cylinders.

A lot of rumors going around. Some saying things fell apart and others saying we have finally reached a deal. Seems like an interesting tactic to keep us in the dark for a long weekend if they didn’t have something important to share with us on Monday.

Or have negotiations met the reality of $4/gallon fuel?

$5 now in some places.

This.

The attrition bloodbath at SY is in full steam now. In the summer I would expect to see attrition greater than what can be replaced via hiring and training, and this is for an airline that was already understaffed (more so in the the left seat than right). G4 might be buying a shell of a company at this rate.

I understand "being ok with attrition" but it's a dangerous game.

Also, having lived through the transformation of an airline from a turn airline to an entirely different animal, it's brutal when you are operating under a contract that was made for a turn airline. The company can and will get away with murder when it comes to scheduling, pairing construction, reassignment, duty, etc.

Let the attrition happen! Maybe it will help JCBA leverage. This "new" company needs to earn its pilots.

No update on the negotiations that we were told by our union was ending last Thursday. No matter what happens we have to get rid of teamsters. We collectively have allowed this sh$& show. All the infighting from national, all the different lead negotiators etc. Cannot make it up. I don’t think we even have an official lead negotiator right now.

yeah agreed we definitely need to go ALPA just hoping we see a contract here in the near future so it’s a clean transition into ALPA and starting to negotiate the JCBA. Hopefully that’s not just wishful thinking and we get some good news hopefully today.
