So far nothing the ran on have been delivered. They were elected at the beginning of the year and have had like one town hall meeting, One required meeting, and zero participation by any of them on the offical forum. At least one of the current exco spent almost everyday on that forum demanding answers from the union, but now complete silence. Who are they protecting by not being transparent? It should never take several days to put out an update that had no real info in it, that is not serving the pilots.
I am curious though about the PBS portion of negotiations. We have been negotiating PBS for a decade. If this EXCO can deliver PBS in a few months when previous EXCOs couldn’t do it over ten years then that is not nothing. It shows that they can make difficult decisions and come to consensus with management.

Oil spike in 2022 didn’t stop other airlines from getting industry leading contracts. Oil was about the same price. Look how that turned out.

This contract is negotiated for years and should not be negotiated on temporary oil price spikes.
this oil surge is already far more devastating than when Russia invaded Ukraine.

that oil spike lasted weeks. This oil spike had already lasted longer and the price of oil is way more for jet fuel (crack spread for fuel is like the new flatten the curve corporate speak).

I still can’t believe people are talking about “industry leading” contracts on this forum. Nobody here expects an industry leading contract. Maybe we move the needle in JCBA.

Our best chance was 2023-2024 but those times are long gone. Thanks for nothing IBT. With spirit in bankruptcy, JetBlue actively seeking a buyer, frontier is struggling, etc. There are haves and have nots - where do you think we fall: nestled between DL and UA or NK and F9?

Depends on the end product, and for the most part we will not know tell it is put to action.

EXACTLY. Why spend 10 years and 5 years of negotiating on PBS when we don’t even know what to expect until it is put into action. Blows my mind that the egomaniacs in the union tried to use PBS and the “holy grail” of unstacking as the hill to die on and their legacy as negotiating masters.

Of course PBS is gonna be different in a small 20 pilot base with day trips than at a legacy with 2000 pilots and a huge variety of trips. Idk what is in it but it takes exactly 1 hour of looking under the hood at other airlines and their PBS to realize that the crap the old NCs and EXCOs were selling us on PBS was a distraction and ego driven.

every property with PBS the union does builds the schedules - you think that makes a difference in what rules are used? It’s beyond wild to think that we have been held hostage by PBS from pilots who have never even worked under a PBS schedule, let alone operate one for the entire workforce.

I’ve ranted for years about this PBS holy grail and how devastating theIBT, Andrew, Greg, JR, Jay, Josh, Kenny and all the other ego union bosses were to Allegiant pilots financial health. It’s gross and despicable. We’ve all lost six figures of income, some seven figures, because some idiots in the NC didn’t know how to make tough decisions. They were terrified into indecision. Pathetic.

rant over

What is he wrong about? This contract is NOT the time to make sure every line of every section is industry leading. This AIP needs to get the major stuff up to snuff, the retention bonus paid, and we can let ALPA and the new MEC wrap up the rest.

If we were smart, we would send what they have out to vote, get on board with the SY folks and start working out the joint list and get ready to fight for the JCBA. Wasting anymore of our time, money, and retirement today is asinine.

Yep, Sign a 2 to 3 year bridge deal. Get us paid get PBS reasonable so as not make schedules worse. Retrench for new joint deal.

we’ve been negotiating for “industry leading” for 5 years. You really think the NMB won’t put us on ice indefinitely if the NC said “legacy contract” or nothing?

The only way to even attempt to leverage a legacy contract is to vote down TA after TA until management realizes that the inability to hire or keep pilots forces them to compromise on legacy QOL and pay.

sitting in a room and pretending to play “hardball” while the NMB roll their eyes at the NC doesn’t create any leverage no matter how much GU and the former NC tell you they’re gonna “fight for your right” like a beastie boy wannabe.

This. I’m not willing to risk losing another couple hundred thousand so GU or some other IBT rep or EXCO tries to play mob boss.

fuel is over $115/barrel today. Everybody is bringing down flying - including us. We need to get paid, get squared up on retirement and benefits so we can walk into sli talks on solid footing for a JCBA
