Safety culture starts from the top. Look at their history of cultivating a healthy safety environment. One word: Critter. Of course, he had nothing to do with all that.

Not ready for something they chose to do months ago.

Not ready for a mx problem on any aircraft because we don't have spares.

Not ready for a mx problem because we don't carry most parts.

Not ready for a sick call because we don't have reserves.

Not ready to negotiate after two years.

At least one more pink slip this week on a new hire.

Step on up folks, jump in during the spin cycle, just before the strike. Attend our newly-reduced training program so you can bust an oral, or have your training strung out for months on end due to crappy sims. Then comes the line...

So not a good place to be right now. If you're looking to improve your lot, wait out the storm and shoot the approach when conditions improve. Hopefully this storm will blow over and the sun will shine again. Just not now.

You do realize people fail oral exams and check rides at every airline right?
If things are so bad there, when are you quitting? I hear PSA is hiring.

That OP's comment is irrelevant because as a new hire upgrade candidate you will most likely be going to the floating TDY base.

I don't think AAY will have any problem recruiting pilots to move to FL bases. As for me I would have not considered AAY if Vegas was the only choice

Ok now I understand, I was thinking if they are upgrading so quick why wouldn't they just move to FL, but it makes sense that they'll just TDY you elsewhere.

Thank you everybody for the input regarding the instructor positions. I was hoping they would understand and appreciate the need for a robust training department. I cant see applying and working under those conditions.

Cheers,

Jim

Looks like Falcon is subbing for us starting today out of IWA & PIE. Lovely!
