I don't think you know how it works in this industry. In order to strike (legally) under the Railway Labor Act the National Mediation Board needs to release both parties (management and pilot group) to self help (i.e. strike). This starts after a 30 day cooling off period. Only problem with this is the National Mediation Board will NEVER release anyone to the 30 day cool off that can be followed by self help.
For example Republic voted 99.25% to strike with 98.86% of eligible voters actually voting. Quick math shows that, of the pilots that voted, only 4 pilots voted to not strike. This was in November of 2011.
Moral of the story: There will be no strike. The National Mediation Board prides themselves on the number if strikes they prevent.

I guess we'll have to disagree. I really don't see it happening that way. Like I said, Republic voted overwhelmingly to strike in 2011 and this whole time RAH management has been refusing to negotiate in good faith. But still has never been released.

Spirit was able to strike.
I think anyone would be hard pressed to say we are critical to the infrastructure. The company's own mantra of not being an airline, but a travel company may come back to haunt them.
And since our market is solely the leisure traveler, who departs out of obscure airports, the NMB may move faster than you think.

There are also rumors that actions taken by the republic pilots frustrated the national mediation Board. That may or may not be true, but one thing is for sure: our CEO has torqued off every department with in the US government and I suspect they would not mind making an example out of him. This administration is trying to show a pro labor face and could use this as an example without affecting commerce.
I guess we will have to wait and see but my money is on the IBT with this one. Check back in a few months, I'm willing to bet there will be a release

That’s their job. It is never in management’s interest to negotiate in good faith. The real misstep for g4, has been their extreme stance across the board. And their blatant disregard for the process. No upper management personal have bothered to show up, in over two years. They have literally sent secretaries and low level store clerks, who are not in any position to make decisions. The nmb has witnessed the same disregard, and worse from what I hear with our flight attendants. And we’re talking about basic stuff; like definitions. Definitions are not in their “DNA”. G4 management would like there to be none; so that your base can theoretically be anywhere they say it is.
B6 has been in negotiations for the last six months and have twice the ta’d items. Our lawsuit for violation for status quo is on going and all indications are positive. If all rah did was offer anything close to your peers, it would look reasonable. G4 has a different peer group. Think Spirit.

So is this the swan song for the 757? Maurys letter alluded to certain employees affected by its fleet plan but was not specific.
