And that's what you're going to have to do in transitioning from a non-Union job to a Union shop. In the non-Union setting, FARs is the only limiting factor. In your case, FAR 117 may give you a leg up on the changes you want made.

Be aware that if you want to tighten up the work rules, you'll have to spend some negotiating capital on that issue that may have gone toward pay, benefits, etc.

Best of luck with your negotiations.

As the largest single shareholder (according to their own website), that is a nice way for MG to legally put the company's cash in his own pocket...

I'm interested to hear how Part 117 has affected reserve life at G4?

It's made it much better. No more phone calls pushing back show times by hours.

Seems scheduling is still trying to get some people to push past the 16 hour limit though... even though our work rules forbid it. Still critically short on reserves and using sub service just this week.

What are your schedule months looking like? How many days off, are they in a row, how many hours are you flying. What can a new hire expect pay wise first year? If you are based in FLL and tdy to another Florida base, is it feasible to drive to the other bases if you live near FLL? Just trying to see how qol is going to be?

10 days off on reserve. Tuesdays and Saturdays off... then the other two are random.

Lineholders have been getting 11-12 days off since we got stuck with PBS.

First year pay will be $40 x 70 hours. Roughly $2000 a month after taxes. Your pay will be MUCH different than a regional as there is $1/hr per diem and you'll likely only get 50 hours or so on reserve and 110 hours as a lineholder... and it's taxed.

I wouldn't drive all over unless you already have a bunch of money. Keep in mind you're making about $500 a week. Gas ain't cheap.
