guys on reserve what credit pay can you get while on reserve? do you break garantee? can you pick up open time and whats it worth?
August 3rd class any body knows what bases and airplane got assign? thanks

I read just the last link you provided. His Delta "flight from hell in first class" was nothing about the flights.
1. He was mad because he bought a first class ticket but his son and relatives bought coach and the agent wouldn't check in the coach people in the first class line with him, thereby bypassing the other coach pax in line.
2. His bag was mishandled during the connection in JFK and arrived in Manchester England a day later.
3. On the way home he was in an RJ (delayed) and it didn't feel like first class anymore.

That was his flight from hell, I kid you not.

Our unfortunate pie captain may be able to use a little known department of labor statute to his advantage:

Wendell H. Ford Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century (AIR21)

AIR21 hopefully could be of use to him. From that provision the department of labor could do some investigating and hopefully take up his case. Go after them man with all you got. Nobody deserves a good a$$ whooping more than allegiant management. Better to see this guy get a few million than upper management.

70hrs & 10 days-off in onesies & twosies at best! Not likely to break guarantee. Open time pick-up is at normal pay, but credited above 70. You get 130% pay over 81hrs. Who wants to pick-up straight-pay open time when your days off are stretched so thin?? Plus, you're 6-on, 1-off several times, preventing you from even considering picking anything up!!

Company loves to hold-back open time while building lines, giving the reserves pure reserve lines that give only 10 days off & little chance of getting payed above guarantee. Instead, mixed-lines should be built to at least 11 days-off and any flying you get called-in for pays above 70 for that portion flown above the daily 3.5 guarantee; it's their way of cheaping-out...don't ask me how I know!!!

PIE captain should file an AIR21 complaint. He must act within 90 days of his termination or he will lose his right to legal action. Here are two law firms that should be able to assist in the matter:

On reserve the credit is 70. Pick up time is straight pay. Anything over 82 hours you get 130% pay. On the Airbus in most bases there is a lot of open time and most people can credit 100 hours. On the 80 it depends on the month. (March, late Nov, Dec a lot of open time. August, Sept basically none. ) I don't think they have assigned aircraft yet. They usually wait till the end of indoc which is 3 weeks.

To clarify, credit above 81 for 130% does not include the 70 hours for a straight reserve line. If you get a straight reserve line and pick up 20 hours on your days off, you don't get any premium pay unless your total flight time exceeds 81 hours.
