So now a newhire can plan on...
-Paying their own travel and hotel to the interview
-Paying their own hotel for training
-Paying for whatever food the $24/day per diem doesn't cover
-Paying for rental car gas and baggage fees and submitting an expense report to have it returned next month
-Making roughly $2000/mo after taxes first year
-Being in a hotel all month every month with single days off and no way to get home indefinitely
-A looming strike

Point of clarification: You don't get the $24/day per diem while in initial in LAS.

You know Perma TDY would work out okay for a homeless guy....
Would they make him fly somewhere at the end of the month or could he just stay in the hotel....

Point of Clarification: Perma-TDY is now called HOM(Home Basing). Sounds sweet doesn’t it. Kind of invokes a Norman Rockwell setting with Christmas music playing during the holidays.
More like a lonely frozen dinner in your hotel room, because the Denny’s workers got Christmas Eve off.

Wait - home basing? That's what they're calling it? YHGTBSM!
Talk to a fractional pilot about being home based. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'm pretty sure what Allegiant is doing is very, VERY different.

But, but, it's a quick upgrade! In less then 3 months you too can be high-fiving yourself in the mirror while on reserve on Christmas Eve at the Texarkana Motor Lodge. Aye, CAPTAIN!!!
