This is generally the case on this board.

Listen, I'm tickled pink they finally got a Union. It's my personal opinion they chose poorly. As a QX pilot told me once, "The only thing the IBT is good at is collecting dues."

It appears AGT pilots are learning that lesson the hard way.

Your personal opinion is devoid of facts, and any understanding of what the choices were. Again, that’s another thinly veiled backhanded slam to g4 pilots. You suggest we made an uninformed decision. You’re tooling around because you hate the teamsters.

Teamsters are not collecting dues from us. Again, g4 pilots are not paying dues. Were getting what we paid for? A contract, free of charge. Which for us is a win. A bad contract here is a huge step up.

Nobody here is ****ed at the teamsters except you. You wish us ill, because you got screwed over.

We have no history with the teamsters, bad or good.

If they’re screwing over the qx pilots, then why don’t they vote them out of there? Just like ups and netjets pilots did? Haven’t the teamsters been on property at qx for over a decade, but still there? I don’t get it. Qx pilots hate their union, and aren’t doing anything about it.

Packrat,

If only I had a dime for every time I heard the same exact thing about ALPA, that all they are good for is collecting dues. From my experience, people that say that do nothing to help, don't volunteer for anything at the union or volunteer for anything in their lives in general.

Packrat, at your airline have you ever done anything to help the union succeed by chance or do you just berate everyone for their work because it doesn't measure up to your standards?

Back to topic...

The work rules are bad. So bad you should reconsider applying or accepting an invite to fly yourself out to interview. Yes, it is worse than your regional.

A strike is imminent and seemingly unavoidable.

We ask for the support of other airlines while we work to improve not only our professional lives, but yours as well.

How would a new hire be perceived among the line pilots?

I think that's a non-issue.

You may think that a lot of these posts are from disgruntled employees, but it's more of a public service. If you have any way of contacting newhires you'll find more (maybe much more) of the same. If you do come here be prepared to be shocked at what will happen to you from management, not the pilots. Every group has some bad apples but I'd say it's very few and almost everyone is good to be around.
