Applications to Allegiant have tripled, not just doubled. It would be my best guess that the preferred candidate is a 121 guy with PIC time and preferably instructor/check airman/chief pilot experience as well and a steady work history. That's what they liked in the past (when there were more pilots than there were jobs), no reason to assume it'd be different now. There are of course exceptions.

How crazy this industry is sometimes. It felt like yesterday where people were saying this is the worst place to be, they should have stayed at their regional and the meet and greets were going by without a single participant. Now theres talk of being very selective and only choosing the cream of the crop. Glad I got in when the requirements were low bc God knows I'm nothing special.

Can't say for sure. I have close to 6500 tt, plenty of PIC Turbine 135,121,91. Been a chief pilot and check airman. I don't have a 4 yr degree, I served with the Air Force special operations. I think I was just at the right place at the right time.

Even now people told me that Allegiant wasn't a good choice. I had other offers, one was chief pilot for a large 135 operator. I still chose Allegiant. It just felt right. As far as people talking bad about Allegiant? Man, I take it with a grain of salt.

Why? There hasn't been a company I haven't worked for were someone if not many said "beware" or "run far away". At the end of the day, does the job give you what you want or can TOLERATE.

No aviation job I had has been perfect and believe me, I've had some good ones. But as for someone that has served in one of the militaries hardest selection process, and dealt with my fair share of BS? Almost any flying job beats the hell out of physical labor or getting shot at.

Allegiant seems like a good place I can hang my hat for a while. Is a legacy better in many ways? Of course. But it all comes down to your mindset, and being able to stay away from negativity and politics.

Meeting Allegiant at a job fair helped me out tremendously. I suggest if you're interested, go to one.

Good luck gents

I just received the invite for the video interview. I was hoping someone that's recently done this would be willing to elaborate on the questions asked?

Thanks!

For what it's worth, I went to a job fair like 2 years ago with low time less than 3000. Suddenly got a response a few weeks ago while the vote was being cast for the new contract. Don't know if they were still hurting when my name came up or if it only got competitive once the contract got voted in. Hopefully it works out for me, I wanted to go there for base and schedules, even before the higher pay.
