If this happens I suspect a mass exdous from those who are displaced. Kicked out of where you live to an uncommutable line somewhere else, no thanks.

About time. Seniority has been overlooked for a long time now. No side deals.

There will be no reason to get you kicked out of your base, worst case you will go down to reserve lines, if they post an opening in a base it means they need more pilots in said base, those pilots coming to your base if senior to you you will go down the line but you should not get flushed out of the base, otherwise why post base opening in the first place?

I understand if it's a straight seniority deal, but my question was for a new hire. I believe there is a 24 month equipment lock for new hires which goes a year past the projected changeover in AVL (I think).

If that's the case, will they displace MD new hires out of the base until the lock has expired?

Nope. It's a Teamsters contact requirement. All aircraft bids are system wide by security. If the base goes Airbus, the bid is open to all and they will bump and flush the junior guys out of the base if senior pilots bid for the position.

I agree with you, we are talking about two different situations.

It's five questions how do you approach training, check ride issues etc... Nothing too complicated; You are given several attempts at getting your answer the way you want it. Wear your suit and don't have a bong in the background

We were just notified that our 8/15 class will be a split class. 24 new hires total with 12 Airbus and 12 MD80 slots.
