Are you talking true Open Time, or Mission Modes? There are a few prolific MM'ers in SFB I hear PIE is pretty good at refusing MMs! I have so few days off as it is that I never consider picking up OT as it is; especially at the shtty straight-time rate!! 'Usta-fly' paid premium for OT pick-up, & in 10 years I might have picked-up 2 or so trips. My time off is much more valuable to me!!

As a pilot, you will be held to a higher standard than anyone else in the company. Meaning, there are no systems in place so if you miss an MEL or a NOTAM you and your captain will be explaining yourselves.
Please don't take my response as negative, or as trying to dissuade you from coming here, just have your eyes wide open.
Good Luck

Depends on how much experience you have. I think the norm right now is around 4,000 hours. Due to our business model, commuting will be extremely difficult. Most of the time our slow days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The company has absolutely no desire to add enough folks for better schedules. As a junior person you'll be on reserve on either Tuesday or Saturday batting cleanup for all the rescue flights needed from the day before. We basically fly the FAR's right now. So if you don't live in base, and your not willing to relocate, it will get old fast. And if you do live in base, you could still find yourself in a TDY situation, where your $1.00 per diem, will ensure you gain 5lbs. of fat per month.

Thanks for the info.. I have around 2500TT. I saw they are coming to a city I'll be in for a meet and greet with the chief pilots and the ad says "guaranteed interview". Anyone have any insight into these meet and greets?

I would give it a shot. You never know what could happen. Your times are pretty low though compared to most non military new hires.
