I'm talking any time above and beyond your schedule. MM is discouraged at ridiculous pay rates but picking up OT at straight pay is acceptable?

Would allegiant be a good option for a current 1 year first officer? Does it still hold true that commuting is near impossible?

Depends on how much experience you have. I think the norm right now is around 4,000 hours. Due to our business model, commuting will be extremely difficult. Most of the time our slow days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The company has absolutely no desire to add enough folks for better schedules. As a junior person you'll be on reserve on either Tuesday or Saturday batting cleanup for all the rescue flights needed from the day before. We basically fly the FAR's right now. So if you don't live in base, and your not willing to relocate, it will get old fast. And if you do live in base, you could still find yourself in a TDY situation, where your $1.00 per diem, will ensure you gain 5lbs. of fat per month.

As a pilot, you will be held to a higher standard than anyone else in the company. Meaning, there are no systems in place so if you miss an MEL or a NOTAM you and your captain will be explaining yourselves.

Please don't take my response as negative, or as trying to dissuade you from coming here, just have your eyes wide open.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info.. I have around 2500TT. I saw they are coming to a city I'll be in for a meet and greet with the chief pilots and the ad says "guaranteed interview". Anyone have any insight into these meet and greets?

I would give it a shot. You never know what could happen. Your times are pretty low though compared to most non military new hires.

Talked to scheduling today and they mentioned there was a big leadership conference yesterday in Vegas that all the supervisors were at. Also said there are some big changes happening.
