Most likely because the contract increased the number of applicants by quite a bit so they are being more picky.

Does anyone know what the March 6th class placements will be, aircraft and bases? Looking for an LAX Airbus. Super excited and can't wait!

Don’t know what you could get, bus or md. But, if it is the Bus you will get LAX at some point very soon. LAX is one of the most junior bases for FOs that we have.

LAX FO is very junior. Most guys here are just waiting on VBD or IWA to open up.

How commutable are the schedules at Allegiant? I heard if you commute it is terrible but if you live in base it might be the best airline job ever.

I think most here would agree with the fact that what makes the schedules so great living in base makes it equally as bad if you're a commuter. All day trips, no exceptions. Still can be scheduled for a limited amount of single days off. It is doable with some seniority, but you're going to be away from home a lot. There are a handful of commuters in the bases I've been in but a crash pad is a must and most of the bases require a decent drive from the primary airport, as they're not able to be commuted into directly(BLI, PIE, SFB, IWA, PGD, etc).

VBD(virtual base, think permanent TDY) makes it much easier(hotel/car/per diem/round trip ticket home once a month).

Everything that is great about living in base is an equal nightmare for those that wish to commute.

Having said that, airbus schedules are generally better than md80 schedules from what I've heard. Further, living in a larger base means better schedules. If you are in a base that has one airplane, I can't imagine life being very good whether you live there or commute.
